Live & Learn

"Live as though you are going to die tomorrow. Learn as if you are going to live forever." - Gandhi

Got some really important things to take care of? Take care of them today and now. Tomorrow or even later today may be way too late. Some people mistake it for something else and indulge in all sorts of sensual pleasures. Then, next morning they will have only hangover and related maladies but nothing else. Probably that feels  worse than death. It's like slow death if you implement living for today wrongly.

Live as if you are going to die tomorrow means only one thing, speed up your own evolution by following the right path. As Indian philosophy says, we are bound to reincarnate again and again till we all evolve to the highest level that we are meant to. By hook or crook, that will happen. But, at what price? Do you really need to and want to go through all these trial and tribulations of petty life over and over again? If not, get on the right path now and get real and take your evolution in your own hands. Spiritual practices are just meant for that.

Stop doing all unnecessary things and activities and focus on only those that really matter. If you are going to die tomorrow, what all will you do?

Then learning. That's the beauty. Learn and keep your mind and body sharp. It's all muscles. Use it or lose it. Easiest way to keep learning is - Read and read and read. Do not like reading? Then absorb new information and knowledge in any other form. Listen to audio tapes, watch education programs. Basically, you should know at least one or two things totally new everyday. If it is related to your career, well-being, more the better. Even if you learn something that is not really useful but interesting that's good too.

Why is learning new things on daily basis important? It helps exercise the brain. Builds new neural circuits. Make you think and reminisce. Strengthens intuition. Keeps you busy. And it's fun.

Cheers to living and learning!
